See a penny

I decided I needed to try to make something new without thinking too much about it, so I recycled a few thoughts out of an old notebook and collaged them together for this quicky. It’s a simple one, but was fun to work on, and I was able to go from start to finish in about a day… with much distraction.

Do you ever observe your thoughts while you’re going about your day, performing those mundane tasks like washing dishes, or making a choice between Progresso chicken noodle and Campbells at the supermarket? I like those moments, it takes so little attention to go through the motions that your mind is free to wander where ever it pleases. I wish I could capture that relationship in my drawings. It’s such a private experience, but, it’s something that we all share in common.

The first secret this week has nine images of female faces. I swear I see you in the face of the top left. It makes me smile. I will try to find a penny today. Let me know if any more trees get hit by lightening.

I’m fascinated. There is something so pure and organic by the collage. An incredible capture of what it is to be human in a moment in time.
